ANSN Activities

In 1997 the IAEA established the Extrabudgetary Programme on the Safety of Nuclear Installations in the South East Asia, Pacific and Far East Countries (EBP-Asia). The overall objective of the EBP-Asia is to assist participating countries to further strengthen safety of their nuclear installations and to maintain a continuous process of safety improvements by assisting nuclear power plant and research reactor regulators and operators through the conduct of safety review missions, expert advice and training.

Every year, a programme of activities is approved by the Steering Committee of the ANSN. The regional programme is based on suggestions made by the various Topical Groups. The national activities are based on the request of the countries justified by the results of the Integrated Safety Evaluation process for each country.
